The Straits Restaurant in Menai Bridge was opened in 2009 by husband and wife team, Phil and Lucy Williams. Lucy runs the Front of House (and bakes her signature dessert 'Annie's Nutty Torte'), while chef Phil takes care of the cooking with his team in the kitchen.

New Orleans born Phil trained with his Dad from the age of 15, at his Dad's restaurant learning authentic Cajun/creole cooking, before opening his own place. Although there will always be an element of this in our dishes, The Straits Restaurant offers a range of styles and flavours from around the world, as well as offering more traditional favourites.

All the food is cooked fresh from scratch on the premises, and we have a diverse menu to suit styles and pockets, an amazing value fixed price menu, an Ala Carte menu and a children's menu.

Alongside our food we serve fresh cocktails, local ales and a carefully selected wine list, as well as a range of soft drinks and fresh coffee.
